Redefining Health and Prevention

With a mission to change the way we think about health and disease and the role that nutrition plays in both, I create powerful educational talks that simplify your understanding of nutrition and urge you to take action towards greater health expression. I tailor presentation topics to the audience. Some examples are below.

School settings

We must start with people as early in life as possible, that is why engaging with students at all levels is a must. Although we are fighting an uphill battle, namely our food culture and the limitations of school food options, we must educate people on nutrition as early and as often as possible.

I tailor presentation topics to the audience. Examples include "Nutrition for Fitness", tailored to a group of high school athletes and "2 & 3 & Me" about Type 2 & 3 Diabetes and the link to Alzheimers along with a diet and lifestyle plan for prevention, tailored to school nutrition department staff.

healthcare professionals

I believe before we can help others we must help ourselves. Science has only reinforced this belief. Recent studies have shown that as healthcare providers improve their nutrition knowledge, they incorporate more nutrition into patient care, thereby improving patient outcomes.

That is why I target presentations for healthcare workers towards their own eating and health-promoting habits and inspire them to take more control of their own health.

Most recently, I gave a talk with the topic "Prevention: The Best Cure" to nurses, social workers, and health aids, through of The Healthy Living Center of Excellence.
